Up to 10%

From Bozeman Yellowstone International (BZN) you'll reach Boise Air Terminal (BOI) in about 75 min nonstop. We book the flight and arrange your airport transfer, with travel and lodging at the Inn at 500 covered up to 10% of your case fee. You arrive, we handle the logistics.

How the travel benefit works

Travel and accommodation are included up to 10% of your total case fee. On the Medium package ($11,000) that is about $1,100 toward flights and lodging. Anything above that is your responsibility, and we tell you the number before you commit, not after.

Prefer to arrange your own travel? Take the 10% reduction on the case price instead: $11,000 becomes $9,900. Either way the benefit is worth the same, so pick whichever suits you.

Recovery notes for Montana patients

Montana recovery is shaped by altitude and dry air more than by temperature. The Gallatin Valley sits near 5,000 feet, and high-altitude sun is stronger than most people account for, so a scalp that is still healing burns faster here than it would at sea level. For the first few weeks we ask Montana patients to keep the recipient area shaded and to skip long days on the water, the trail, or the mountain, which is the hardest part of this for most of the men we treat. Winter brings the opposite problem: dry indoor heat and the habit of pulling a hat on before you walk out the door. A snug beanie over fresh grafts causes more trouble than the cold does, so we send you home with a loose covering and a clear rule about when friction on the recipient area is safe again. The short flight helps here. At roughly an hour and fifteen minutes there is no long pressurised leg to manage on the way home.

Montana hair transplant FAQ

Is there a hair transplant surgeon in Montana?

Yes, and we would rather say so plainly than pretend otherwise. Montana has a small number of providers offering hair restoration, generally within broader plastic surgery or aesthetics practices, and Bozeman is where most of them are. What Montana does not have is a practice that does nothing but male hair restoration. That is the difference worth weighing, not availability.

How long is the flight from Bozeman to Boise?

About an hour and fifteen minutes nonstop. Alaska Airlines flies Bozeman Yellowstone International (BZN) to Boise (BOI) daily on an Embraer 175, a distance of roughly 292 miles. It is one of the shortest trips any of our fly-in patients make, and it is short enough that the flight home is a non-event for a healing scalp.

What is the difference between manual FUE and ARTAS or NeoGraft?

ARTAS and NeoGraft are automated or robot-assisted harvesting systems: a device selects and extracts follicular units, with the surgeon supervising. Manual FUE means the provider extracts and places each graft by hand. Both are legitimate FUE. The tradeoff is speed against control, and Mountain Man works manually because angle, direction, and depth at the hairline are judgement calls made graft by graft. If a practice near you offers automated harvesting, ask who is placing the grafts and how many cases they do in a day.

Why fly to Boise if I can get hair restoration in Bozeman?

Because of what the practice does all day. The Montana options are good general practices that also offer hair restoration alongside other procedures. Mountain Man is a men’s FUE-only practice, so every case is the same operation, and Dr. John sees you before and after rather than handing off. For an hour and fifteen minute flight with travel included up to 10% of your case fee, most Montana patients decide the specialisation is worth the trip.

What does a hair transplant cost for Montana patients?

Pricing is flat and set by case size rather than billed by the hour. A typical 1,800-graft case is the Medium package at a flat $11,000, with packages running from $8,000 for smaller hairline and crown work up to $14,000 for extensive restoration. Travel and accommodation are included up to 10% of your case fee, about $1,100 on a Medium case. You get the whole number at your free virtual consult.

How many days will I be away from home?

Two to three nights in Boise covers the procedure day and a check the following morning, and you are usually cleared to fly home after that check. Because the Bozeman flight is short and runs daily, Montana patients have more scheduling flexibility than most, and a lot of them treat it as a long weekend.

I live in Billings, Missoula, or Helena rather than Bozeman. Does that work?

It does. Helena and Butte are both roughly an hour and a half from Bozeman, and Big Sky and Livingston are closer than that, so most patients across western and central Montana drive to BZN and take the nonstop. From Billings or Missoula you can either drive to Bozeman or connect, and we sort the itinerary either way. Follow-up is handled by video, so you are not making the trip again for a routine check.

Is there a time of year when the Bozeman flight does not run?

The Boise route runs daily through the winter season and again through the summer, with a short pause in the spring shoulder season between the two schedules. If your date lands in that gap you connect instead, which adds time but not difficulty. We check the schedule when we book, so you will know before you commit to a date.

Will altitude or Montana winters affect how I heal?

Not the final result, but they change what you should do in the first few weeks. High-altitude sun is the main thing to manage, because a healing recipient area burns faster at 5,000 feet than most people expect. In winter the issue is dry indoor heat and hats. Neither affects how the grafts take, and both are handled with straightforward instructions you will have before you leave Boise.

What is FUE and how is it different from FUT?

Follicular Unit Extraction takes individual follicular units from the donor area at the back and sides of the head and places them one at a time. FUT, the older strip method, removes a band of scalp and leaves a linear scar behind. FUE leaves no linear scar, which is what lets you keep your hair short afterward. Mountain Man performs manual FUE only.
